Preparing Site

picture of the site before we started

The site a piece of waste ground 22 metre square had lain derelict for almost

forty years. It was the place where the builders left their rubble when they

vacated the site after building the school.

It was very important to prepare the site properly and it was a very difficult job.

Darragh and Frank worked for  many hours rotovating, removing rubble and

raking over the ground until our site was  prepared and ready for planting.

Finally they laid slabs to that we would have place to stand when we were

working in the garden.

We had to rotovate the ground twice to break up the soil. This is a picture of

the rotovator that we used.
